Yup this week I started her with porridge.

Friends who knows me, will be thinking "u sure u know how to cook or not?". Thus before I start this mission impossible, I did many research from parenting forum & asking around.

Finally, I decided on using the fuss-free method, SLOW COOKER. Yes as per its name, it cooks s-l-o-w-l-y.

It takes about 5 hrs before the rice were cooked till cereal-soft. Although it takes a long time, but its simple & the end result was good. Just put rice & water in to the pot, on the switch & that's it! Occasionally check on the water, to make sure its not dried up. I did not add any seasoning (i.e. salt or soy sauce) as I do not want Princess's taste bud to be 'stained' by these artificial flavouring. Instead, I added carrot into the porridge to give it taste & flavour. Besides, Princess LOVE carrots.

I was worried as I'm not sure if she'll like the porridge cos its not as tasty as cereal (cereal is sweet whereas porridge bland). She tasted her 1st bit of the orangey-gluey-bland food. She gave me the what-is-this-mummy look. She played with the porridge awhile & swallowed. Me so happy at least she accepted it & didn't spat it out.

On Saturday, she finished about 80ml out of 100ml.

On Sunday, she finished the whole 100ml.

Princess had added another milestone to her growing up diary.

10:29 PM

As I posted previously, Princess always surprises me with her new learnt stunt every week.

This week she showed off her doggie position. Princess can carry her weight on her knees & hands. *just imagine yrself trying to mimic a dog crawl* Both her hands & knees are so strong that she can lift her tummy off the ground!! I believe she'll be able to crawl soon!!!

As for why I called it a doggie position instead of kitty position or mousey position etc, is because she's born in the yr of DOG.

Princess is able to sit unsupported for longer time now. She knows how to balance herself so that she'll not fall left or rightwards.

My Princess has indeed grown up...

received a call from my SIL @ 4am. She told me princess having flu & cough. I took leave today & brought princess to see doc.

She is suffering from blocked & running nose & cough & phlegmy chest. Fortunately, she had no fever. Princess was feeling rather down since this morning when I fetch her from SIL house. Her happy & ever smiling face had disappeared...

Doc prescribed medic for her flu & cough. I asked for extra bottles so that both my house & SIL house also have. Guess how much it cost?

I have a confession to make: I have a new found love, Mustafa.

Let me describe him:

1. not very young
2. doesn’t smell very nice (sometimes)
3. very well known
4. lots of offer
5. available 24/7

Michelle & I visited him on Wednesday. As usual, due to his popularity, it was crowded. We went to the tidbits & grocery department. There are many never-see-b4-but-looks-nice cookies. Of course, both of us cannot give those good-looking cookies a missed. We also bought several of those ready-mixed spices for cooking. Just nice for those who can’t cook, LIKE ME!

Next we proceed to the children department. It’s a MUMMIES PARADISE. Mummy-to-be may consider checking out this place as it has ALMOST everything you’ll need. We found a ‘budget’ corner AKA the dig into it corner. We found many pieces of cheap-but-looks-good-n-feel-good clothing. Below are our findings:

like sailor moon - $4.90

although looks nothing special but Princess was born in DOG yr so I die die must get this for her PLUS the nose of the doggie can make 'quik quik' sound - $7.90

love the flower design & the details on the pants - $6.90

colourful long sleeves dress - $4.90

Michelle bought this for Princess, comes with a matching panty - $4.90

loved the butterfly details on the pocket, come with matching panty too - $4.90

From Michelle too, princess lacy dress $4.50

i call it the dolphin dress - $4.90

Yup as per the title, what i'm gonna talk is not about my Princess.

Rye bought a new car & collection is today!! yiipeeeeee... Finally after riding on a 2-wheeler for 11 years, having to bear the rain & sun, we gonna have our own 4-wheeler!!

We selected the colour 'Blue Mica' just by looking at the sample colour template. Fortunately, the colour turns out great. Loved the blue.

While Rye is checking his new wifey, I took the following:

Noticed that Princess is getting impatient when she's drinking milk. She likes to sit up rather then lying down. Thus, I decided to start weaning her (i intended to start only when she's 6 mth old).

Bought Frisocrem - rice cereal. Decided on Frisocrem rather than other brand is because she's currently drinking Friso 1 Gold. I think its better to get the same brand as the taste should be about the same & easier for her to accept the cereal. I chose rice cereal rather than wheat is because I heard that it is 'heaty' & some babies will get constipation although its healthier.

Fed her cereal on 14 Dec.

I was rather nervous as:

1. its the 1st time she's eating from spoon

2. not sure whether she like it or not

3. worried her digestive system is not ready for solid food

Fortunately, Princess enjoys her cereal. She will open her mouth when she sees my spoon approaching. Another milestone acheived.

So far, I had fed her banana, potato, carrot & brocoli. She doesn't like to eat banana & potato alone, thus I got to mix with her cereal. She loves carrot. She accepted eating plain carrot.

Princess have been eating cereal for more than a mth now. Next week, I'll start feeding her porridge. Hopes she'll like it too...
